My first mix of 2011 and, it having been ages since the last one, this one is jam-packed with simply the best stuff I’ve heard in months. You may or may not recognise any of the tracks below, but I challenge you not to love them all – every single one. This is called Discola; it was mixed in one go one cold snowy night in Cambridge, MA. As the name suggests, it’s a bit of a disco odyssey, designed to get you dancing right from the get-go, and it won’t let up for a whole 90 minutes. You see: value-for-money too – lucky you.

Surely the prog house track of the summer?

A quick and occasionally dirty mix to celebrate the arrival of spring. This is perhaps a slightly less cheesy mix than some of the previous ones. Designed to be put on towards the end of a night, and peaking early with the fantastic combo of “Kill Me” and Yosa’s “Margaret” – both cracking, dynamic floor-fillers. Then, via a couple of fab disco grooves, it gets progressively deeper and, to me at least, more sonically interesting if less dancy, culminating in Lovelock’s fab cheeky remix of the climax of Tubular Bells and the Fuck Buttons’ momentous, driving epic “The Lisbon Maru”. All recent favourites. As ever, would v much welcome any feedback – it helps me plan future sets and podcasts.
